We are very excited to offer a Trainee Technical Support Engineer position within this successful worldwide business. The main purpose of your role will be to provide first class customer service via telephone and email support on products and tool refurbishment to meet the needs of a range of internal and external customers.
Reporting to the Technical Manager the wide scope of your role, whilst adhering to & promoting company policy, strategy & objectives includes:
·Contribution to collating, distributing and presenting training material on products
·Administering our tool refurbishment service
·Providing technical support to our customers and prospects
·Preparing technical quotations
·Processing of non-standard and special tooling orders
·Creation and management of technical drawings
·Management and control of e-learning materials
·Liaison with key external suppliers & supporting key accounts to understand their needs
·Attendance of sales meetings & taking incoming sales calls on request
·Production of management reports on request

Skills & Experience
You will possess excellent communication skills & have a methodical approach in order to fulfil business objectives, demonstrating the following key competencies:
·Understanding of mechanical engineering machining processes
·Excellent customer service skills, promoting a positive image of self & brand
·Excellent communication skills & the ability to interpret customer requirements
·Flexibility & continuous improvement
IT skills including competence using Microsoft Office packages & experience of administering sales databases are essential to the role.
It is desirable that you have knowledge in the following areas:
·Experience of cemented carbide cutting tools
·Understanding of the Tooling manufacturing industry
·Understanding of catalogue layout & basic cutting tool selection
·CAD CAM literacy
·Experience of working in a industrial office environment

Qualifications
·Educated to a minimum GCSE level, including qualifications in Math, English & preferably a science subject
·Ideally possess a formal engineering qualification, such as NVQ, ONC, HNC, or have served an apprenticeship
